So many autistic individuals grow up feeling different—and completely alone. Not because they lack the desire to connect, but because they rarely meet others who truly understand their way of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world.
In our newest video, I sit down with our founder, Susan Golubock, an autistic adult and retired occupational therapist, to talk about the life-changing power of the autistic community. Susan shares how she spent decades feeling isolated until she finally discovered other autistic people who just got her, no need to mask, no need to explain.
We talk about what real connection looks like for autistic individuals, the difference between “teaching social skills” and offering social opportunities, and why belonging should never be based on trying to fit in.
💬 "We all need a place where we can just be ourselves—and feel understood," Susan says.
Whether you’re autistic yourself or someone who supports an autistic person, this conversation is a powerful reminder that being different doesn’t have to mean being alone.
